To create an art direction for the entire series of Amazon Stories and build out a design library that other members on our team and Amazon can use when building out new interactive pages.
As a base, our motion team previously worked with Amazon to create art direction for a similar project. So I picked up where they left off made updates to that direction including additional colors, fonts, and interactive elements and rules.
After defining the overarching look and feel, it was time to build out the library. The entire library consisted slideshows, videos, graphs, quotes, etc., along with a style guide of colors, fonts, and components to reuse within the design.
In order to ensure that all of our modules work seamlessly together, I built out example pages to see how everything feels and fits together. And as usual, in this phase, you end up tweaking things here and there to make sure things flow together when stacking in them in various combinations. And in the end the real test? Real articles! The library was a huge success, allowing stories to be created in just 1-2 days by utilizing the new design library.
